Some Recent Projects A large private sector organisation had approached us with a difficult situation involving a senior manager who felt that she had been bullied for some time by her manager and was increasingly unable to perform her duties and was considering taking stress leave or resigning. Her skills and expertise were highly valued and so ScotCoach provided some initial coaching to the manager experiencing stress and in a short time this manager felt an increased sense of confidence and focus and had found some new strategies for communicating her concerns to her senior manager. We then provided a facilitated intervention between the two mangers so that they could reach an agreement about how to work together more effectively. This was achieved and the employees involved did not need to deal with this situation through the formal grievance handling procedure.
Eliza and Bella both worked in administrative roles for a large company. Eliza complained to their divisional manager that Bella had been withholding information from her on several occasions and had been aggressive with her in staff meetings and that Bella ‘talked down to her’ even though they worked at the same level. As work pressures increase on the whole division over the next few months the relationship between Eliza and Bella deteriorated and it escalated to breaking point when an incident occurred during a staff meeting. Eliza then went on sick leave as she was feeling ‘stressed out’ by it all. HR became involved at this stage and offered Eliza and Bella mediation. As a result of the mediation, Bella and Eliza developed a new way or working together and Bella stayed in her post and brought even more value and loyalty to her organisation. Full Case
A manager was referred to us by his HR department because he was losing a lot of staff from his department because of his management style and after attempting to resolve this situation internally without any improvement we recommended that the manager may benefit from the conduct of a feedback process using the Emotional Competency Inventory (ECI). Once the feedback had been provided to the manager by our accredited coach in Emotional Intelligence this manager undertook a programme of coaching which as resulted in a dramatic improvement in his competencies as a people manager and the performance outcomes of this department have improved significantly. The owners of a a medium size business were ready to sell the business but because of the historical issues between them they were unable to come to an agreement together on how to manage the sale. We designed a facilitated negotiation process that enabled the partners to work through the issues together, put their past conflicts behind them and focus on what they each wanted to take away from the sale of their business. This process resulted in a sale of the business and an agreed price well beyond what they had hoped for.

A public sector organisation had undertaken an internal restructuring process and as a result a number of employees were to be redeployed and so needed to apply for new posts. ScotCoach provided on-site individual coaching in interview skills to each of the employees so that they would feel confident and well prepared for their interviews. [ Top of page ] [ Home ] |
